that it was an attempt by those dastardly French-led foreigners to tell us how to run our country. Funny how they voted against it then....

The really bizarre thing is that we are told it will take away the sovereignty of national governments. So how come every single EU national government agreed it and support it. that would be like ALL the turkeys voting for Christmas? National governments are losing power anyway to 'market forces' (which means anyone rich) and the governments are aware the EU is the only way of democratically elected bodies retaining any power.
