well no, actually it is for exactly the same reason

because it has to take account of a wide variety of views (all those countries/parties) it is naturally invariably centrist in nature - the consensus approach.
Therefore everyone non-centrist, whether hard left or hard right, will oppose it. That's why in the 70s you had Tony Benn and Enoch Powell on the same side and now you have Nigel Farage and Denis Skinner.
