I had forgotten that article

Obviously it's a subjective decision when and whether to release a player. But he'd only just started to show his potential in the first team, so clearly wasn't a total no-hoper. If he'd gone for a small fee of 100000 or something, it would have been more understandable, but to cast him aside just seems perverse. I almost hope he does come back to haunt us one day.
