What happened? We fell out of the Prem. And were maybe the first club to really suffer the financial consequences. Loads of clubs have had similar or worse experiences since.

As a result, we faced near-administration... just as we did 13 years later under owners we have a completely different attitude towards. Jim and OG have covered the similarities between the two regimes; they're much more alike than is ever normally acknowledged.

And on the money Delia's put in: so if she ever sold, she wouldn't want it back then? In fact, wasn't the club priced at a preposterous 56m not so long ago? No wonder we didn't find anyone, frankly.

Incidentally: I've heard more than a few bits of info of exactly why the banks called their loans in. And who *cough cough* was pushing them to do it.
