Excellent Piece
Makes a lot of sense. Many of the "new" Labour MP's, with high hopes and a pesonal vision of serving their constituents first, may not like being rail roaded into making decisions via the whips that go against their or their constituents wishes. This is especially true of those in "core" Labour areas who are no more keen to pal up with the Lib Dems than they would the Conservatives. Likewise, the same could apply to the new Conservative MP's!
It amuses me when politicians or commentators say that they should 'unite', as they have similar interests and policies, if that were the case, then why would they ever bother fighting each other for seats, based on their differences, in the first place!!
My nemesis, Mr T Hawes remains confident that a Con/Lib Dem Coalition will eventually come out of this, I still see it being Lab/Lib Dem, especially with Broon on his way. I was misguided on one issue though Tricky, it wasn't Cameron who had no intention of ever doing a deal with the Lib Dems, I think its Clegg having no intention of ever doing one with the Tories!
Lib Dems at the moment remind me of the children in the playground who congregate around the kid who has the big, shiny new toy-until the most unpopular kid in the school has a bigger, shinier, newer one-then they all go and play with him!
