invests (either via shares or match-tickets) and gets no material return.

If Cullum is worth 500 million (conservatively) he could easily invest 1 per cent of his worth with no strings attached.

Yet for that 1 per cent of his worth he wanted control of a stable business turning over 15 million in a bad year.

Note that Turners loaned 2 mill and got board seats. For just over double that sum Cullum appears to want control.
