But there’s more to good performance than that. When we lost at home to Stoke 0-1 (Klose OG (not that kind of OG, though he was)), the crowd clapped them off. They’d lost, so by that metric had failed, but the boost given after that performance and reaction to the match arguably led to the joint best winning streak of the club’s history and subsequent promotion.

I know sport is about data, otherwise there wouldn’t be scores and tables and winners and losers. But managing a team is done by a human, not a ChatGPT bot, and needs human skills to do it, not a spreadsheet. Data will be good if the team is good.
