This is so important. A team is a collection of people, all flawed and gifted in their own ways. They need to be able to manage their own egos for the good of the whole. It’s not just about ability and technique. I know, I know, stating the obvious. I think Thorup treated players last season as if they were more mature and trustworthy than they really were. Looking at it as dispassionately as possible, with obviously only an outsider’s perspective, some really clever man management is needed if you can’t just remove the troublemakers. I’m looking forward to see what happens.
