I don't see anyone trying to destroy Michael Vaughan.

But the success of his career as a leading pundit and therefore spokesperson/ambassador for the game will always be dependent on the things he actually says.

And again, I do think it's really important to understand that the prevalance of racism and racist attitudes is not simply because of people who are "fundamentally racist" (whatever that actually means) but because of the actions, behaviour and conduct of people and institutions since forever.

These are the people and institutions who think racism doesn't really exist, who think the odd comment here and there is something to get over, who think people of colour possess certain 'characteristics', who think people of colour are somehow different, solely based on colour of their skin.

Endemic racism is not thousands of people all simultaneously doing monkey chants, it's subtle, pernicious and something you and I have not experienced so cannot begin to understand how it must feel.
