we literally don't have the space in this country for acres of physically separated cycling lanes it just isn't possible especially when public money is so strapped. we do have, quite evidently, acres of vacant spaces in peoples brains that can possibly be educated into more sensible behaviours by all road users for everyones mutual benefit. i was told today that in Norfolk the people that are delivering road safety advice to children in schools is that is is safer not to actually cycle as it is too dangerous.
