the contrast in experience between my ex's treatment and the organisation around it compared to that of my father's within the NHS system was night and day. I was appalled at the bureaucracy, lack of cohesion between the various outsourced parties, lack of any organisation at all, the hiding behind process for fear of punishment, the lack of attention and refusal to do anything other than the treatment in a can was stunning. Having to deal with all that s**t at the same time as watching a parent die simply increased the stress on our family no end.
