that bloker's referring to rule 11.4.1, which is quoted all over the place on here, and which refers to the defender deliberately stepping off the pitch.

But as I say, just because that didn't happen, doesn't mean RVN was offside. The rules don't actually seem to say whether he was or wasn't.
