I can;t imagine that the EU would not pick that up. Clearly if Stormont is not sitting then there would either need to not be a vote or some other form of mechanism such as a referendum (oh joy) in NI!

I will also gladly confess I don't know the in's and outs of the NI Assembly very well but it must surely be possible to come up with a mechanism whereby NI itself can determine what it wants to do and who can say that is not democratic or indeed reasonable?

I very much doubt the EU will let it happen every 4 years though!
