Johnson may also be trying to use this to try and get the NI assembly to reconvene of course. Nice high profile Brexit related vote to lure them back into Stormont and end the current impasse. Given the Brexit sentiment in NI it may even play quite well for the DUP to be seen to be supporting continued alignment for the next 5 years.
