Of course we don't want to go there which is why its ironic that if they don't actually compromise and agree something sensible here the EU and Ireland will be ensuring that we do get border infrastructure which is the one thing they say they want to avoid at all costs.

There is enough in this deal in my view to give them the basis to negotiate something. Its really quite close to what they originally wanted/suggested. The compromise will have to be on a time limit/Stormont lock. If they really won't negotiate something around that (and it won;t have to look precisely as we have proposed) then who is being unreasonable?
