You’ve touched on the important point that they seem to be missing.

It’s a generational thing to a fair degree, even at the top of the game. Sure money has skewed things somewhat but football is still moving in cycles.

For example, there’s a generation of Man Utd fans who have never known anything other than almost total dominance and there’s now a generation of young kids coming into the game who have never seen Man Utd win anything and wonder how they were ever successful over Man City.
