no-one does. They may have a plan in place, but there are absolutely no guarantees that it is the right one or that it will have a positive outcome. I'm not sure why some fans feel the need to try to quash any slightly sceptical voices.

Calling things a transition season or part of a long term plan is just a cop out imo. No one in our club hierarchy - the owners, the board or the manager have achieved anywhere near enough in the game to be given carte blanche for a couple of years without any scepticism or questioning from supporters.
