how many more young people are training to be teachers these days, but having various reasons of leaving or moving on? I would suggest a growing number of people leaving is also down to them being able to have a choice of what they settle down to do...

ie, you could use the same argument for the military or police.... i would wager theres a higher percentage today that join/train for a short time before opting out and swapping careers.....

nothing much to do with government policy, more to do with a more affluent and flexiable working society
