One thing that I think is clear from this season: you can’t change your team / style

When you get promoted.

If you look at the teams that have done well when going up they have generally kept the same players and style and added a little more quality. Eg Brentford, sheff u, Brighton. Teams that try to build a new team / approach nearly always struggle eg Fulham, us this year.

Abandoning the 4231 double pivot and trying to build a 433 around Gilmour was a huge error and it would be great to know Webber’s / Farke’s thinking on this.

We would have been better to stick with the slightly more defensive version of Farkeball, after all it was injuries that partly derailed us last time.

I think Smith will sort us out and I don’t think all the players are as bad as everyone seems to think but it will take a bit of time for him to build the team and style he wants.
