I know i'm slightly inclined to bore on about this

muttering over my pint in the corner, but I do think this is a consequence in part of losing Farke - he represented a style and an approach, and he was a unifying figurehead - without him, we've lost something of ourselves - DS is yet to imprint or really manifest much of his character or style or direction, so it feels like we're fractured and going through the motions. It currently feels a bit like a lesson in the virtues of (small "c", don't worry) conservatism.
anyway, i know all the counter arguments, and time will no doubt find a way, but it's not much fun atm.
