You are right I have not been advocating spending stupid money or recklessly. Just having a bit of a go in a way that would not damage us long term because its really the long term wage commitments that have killed us or will be harming us financially not a one off outlay on a loan fee or wages over 6 months.

I just believe that we shoudl have tried a lot harder to get promoted this season than we have done (balancing that of course against the need to plan for the future) and indeed last seaosn as well. We did at least try to be ambitious last season by keeping the squad together but then we gave up prematurely around Christmas time when we refused to sack neil and then again when we did not appoint a replacement.
