and you can google this , how many premeirship / championship games have been postponed in the last ten years , personally i have no idea of the answer but my perception is not many

The mid winter break is for players to rest and recover and the first two weeks in Jan is approx the half way point of the season , not because the weather leads to postponement of lots of games as all clubs in the premiership have to have some sort of pitch protection/heating
