Of course
However, the idea of ruling out treating approaches on an investor by investor basis - or indeed, making those approaches and contacts ourselves - is ludicrous. And taking a perverse sense of pride in that at the very time we're skint is even worse.
We spent several seasons in the world's highest profile league. Our games were watched all over the world. We're a couple of hours outside London, have a terrific stadium, amazingly loyal fanbase, are based in a lovely city, have colours which are instantly recognisable all over the world, are the only club in an entire county and premier one in an entire region.
When clubs with far less going for them than Norwich have been and are being snapped up left, right and centre, the idea that no-one out there could possibly be interested in us without having nefarious motives is nonsense. The problem with acting like little old Norwich is it condemns us to forever be little old Norwich.
That doesn't mean for a moment I'm not aware of the risks - and for the record, I wouldn't want either the Watford model or Bournemouth one. Both will inevitably leave both clubs up the creek once they go back down. But in life, to succeed in anything, risks have to be taken. The great irony of our no-risk approach is, as in 2009, it could well end up forcing the hands of the owners if things continue to decline.
