But it's not actually a given that he's an asset increasing in value. With his goals last year and U21 exposure this might be as high as his profile gets.
If he doesn't continue to improve next season (and players don't forever keep improving, they all hit a ceiling eventually) then his value may well drop, since a younger player at a certain standard is more valuable than an older one who appears to have stopped improving.
Especially if, as Jim suggests, he gets pushed out of the team by his better brother...
