Hard to disagree with you on much of that
Except that I'd still say it's really easy to let the manager become a lightning rod for all th club's failings.
We didn't sell our weary, stale, underperforming "premier league stars" in the summer. AN's fault?
We didn't sign the players the manager (and we) so clearly wanted. AN's fault?
The fans moan, whinge, and sulk through all our home games, and rarely get a proper chant going - even in the Barclay which used to have half-decent craic about it. AN's fault?
The players commit critical mistakes every week - maybe a bit AN's fault but hardly exclusively his.
Etc.
I think we need to look at other options. Sack the manager, get Mike Walker in, yeah. But what if instead we sold Naismith Brady etc etc, bought young fresh strikers, and got properly behind the team at CR? Those things could transform it.
At least, they'd stand at least as good a chance of it as firing Alex Neil and replacing him with someone else who we might well be saying the same things about in 2 years when we're not comfortably settled in the prem, etc.
