Is it a Tory or a labour Council and how are its finances?

Lots of labour Councils out there over the last few years have made cuts and made great stock out of blaming it on the government. In some cases i think possibly deliberately with an eye on the next election.

i find it very hard to believe there was a central government mandate telling them to close every day centre in their area. they may have been told they had a budget of x and up to them what areas to make cuts etc. And every Council will decide what their priorities are. You'd be amazed how many decide swanky new offices or salaries of senior officers are more important!
