But the context is part of what makes these cases peculiarly difficult to judge in real life rather than in outraged principle. As you say in your reply, a certain impression may "misleadingly be given", and on that footing the person given the impression is entitled to be judged.

Incidentally, much more than this man's comments, I find the following (and you'll see I hope why it's relevant) to be really, really disturbing. But then I was never too keen on ad hominem attacks.
