I fail to see your point about Curbishley

How can one game (ie today) be used in argument based on what he has achieved over the last 15 years - namely, turning them into a mid-table Premiership outfit from a team that had no money and no ground? I don;t believe for one minute the board can look at the current situation and think the same will happen.
