We budgeted to finish last

Rightly so. A ?4m budget for new players AND wages at the start of the season was laughable, but it was what we could afford.

The last 7-8 games meant that we nearly got away with it, but they also disguise a pretty dismal season as a whole.

It depends which way you look at it - you could almost say we exceeded our expectations...after all, the Charlton model (Please, don't kill me for bringing it up again) is based on relegation!
