What's wrong with HTC?

I know their budget handsets are a little ropey, but their high-end ones always seem fairly good. My Desire was excellent, and although I have a Galaxy S2 at the moment, I would generally go for an HTC, since Samsung's own software is a pile of s**te (Kies).
