Lots of it is personal taste, I find Google Sky Map one of the best things ever, but you might not be quite so fascinated by astronomy.

Astro File Manager (or any other competent file manager app) is a must.

"ESPN goals" is a good one if you want to see the ghouls on a Saturday before MOTD.

If you use Twitter don't bother with the official version, Tweetdeck is far more streamlined IMHO, and it also includes your facebook feed.
