would have been the perfect time to have upgraded to an SSD hard drive. (if possible with your model)

Most laptops have pisspoor HDs due to the power savings. (low RPM)

Adding an SSD makes a laptop absolutely fly as its the biggest bottle neck by far in performance.

Especially as you have an external drive for back ups and storing larger files.
