You'll rely on them for comfort

I can't talk for Osteopaths cos I've never tried it

If I could turn back the clock, I'd probably have done things differently

What I mean is. When I was 20, I was going every month to the chiropractor, and that becomes something you attach yourself too

In recent years I've gone the other way and spent too long away

Seeing as you're starting out feeling these pains. My advice would be to learn the stretches, and do them regularly. That way you can stabilise the initial injury, and then prevent it spreading (to other muscles, hip etc)

Again if I was 20 again, I think I'd have gone for a remedial massage instead, and had someone work on all the knots and creeks instead of cracking joints back in (which takes a long time and effort for you to strengthen them in order for you to not lock them again)

In short, it's kind of best to treat anything that's happened as happened. Maintain what you still have healthy, and they'll be the support round what's gone wrong

Stretching regularly (which you'll do cos you'll be feeling the injury all the time) and having stiff parts of your body massaged will probably do you more good than expensive treatment (probably because in order for that treatment to be beneficial, you'd have to go about twice a week for 6 months, which is a fortune. Footballers go because the club pay for it)
