Just on the topic of Roeder and the loons. Yes we spent silly money on loan deals that
served us badly in the end however it was Roeder's loans that saved us from being relegated the season before. Chedders and Taylor were inspired signings and Camara and Bertrand were decent too.
He was doomed to failure from the start because fans didn't want him here. yes he made some huge mistakes and I wouldn't advise anyone to allow him to manage their football club but he wasn't as bad as Grant or Gunn. Roeder's football was pretty decent (not at the end though) just lacked a cutting edge. I would say he was an unlucky manager, had we got Iverson, had Clarky not left, it could have been a different story. And his arrogance of not giving Hucks one more year was a ridiculous decision.
Don't get me wrong, I think he was one of a long list of managerial f**k ups but I think there's a tendency to go overboard on how bad he actually was.
