I don't agree

The BBC is a national, state-funded broadcaster. Its conduct and the standards which it applies are of interest to many citizens (and should be of interest to more). The fact that two of the performers whom it has selected as its stars, to be its leading lights, should believe that such a crude, vulgar and unkind stunt was appropriate broadcasting material is certainly something which is worthy of national comment.

The fact that few people complained at the time is wholly irrelevant. People who were not listening live have a right to have a view on the national broadcaster's standards even if they find out aboutn ti later - just like you have a right to scroll down this board and express a view on postings whcih went out while you weren't online.

Nor is this a "Mail only" issue. I commend you to this piece in the Guardian, which is very Beeb friendly.
