that's exactly why I hate the people who only support the national team

note the *only* there. They're going just to see big names and so think it's a god-given right to complain about anything less than excellence. A fan who watches a crappy side week in week out knows when to praise the good and deplore the bad. I'm not saying there's pleasure in having it tough, but don't complain about spending a load of cash to go and watch England away because you're spending it on the expectation of a big return.
