Nah, it's more that

I can't believe someone allows something to get to them that much, when they'll never have the power to make their views impact

and the fact they get so irate about something they think is so black and white, like the tooth fairy not existing

Then when they come accross me who isn't a believer, but tolerant towards it, it totally sends them off again, and they end up asking me all sorts of stupid questions like "but the earth wasn't made in seven days, it's just stupid", to which I just say "I'm not a theologian, or a scientist, nor do I believe every theological or scientific theories, because they are often wrong as well"

The whole episode with this lad I know started when I was sent some comedy, and it was some fat, drunk american slagging religion off, and I said I don't find it funny, plus he's hardly in a position to judge anyone looking at the way he looks after himself

This guy went off at me about religion being bulls**t, and ended up apologising to me the next day. Mainly cos he went home and had the same conversation with his wife, who said the same things as me, about bad people existing everywhere etc

It still doesn't stop him watching it, and hearing something clever that challenges it all, and sometimes tells me about it. But I think of that as just a wind up now, because he knows how I feel, so the only reason to bring it up, would be to unload some stress on someone else, get a reaction, then unload what's bothering him onto me in a pointless barny (bit like wotb :) )

He really made go from, accepting what people say about religion (all the molesting stuff etc), to detesting cheap shots

I likened it to people who can't accept vegetarians

"what, so you don't eat white or red meat, but you eat fish, and you say your a vegetarian?"

DEAL WITH IT, THEY DON'T EAT WHITE OR RED MEAT

:)
