Depends on the wording, if he hasn't worked there very long they may say his trial period
has not been succesful or they could say he is being made redundant. If they have a staff handbook & he hasn't followed procedure they could dismiss him. If they are dismissing him for being unfit for work they are leaving themselves wide open for a lawsuit against them.
