that's probably the reason for not having such concrete targets, because if a manager failed in those circumstances he probably wouldn't deserve the sack

and i agree with the setting goals in stages too, which if is what happened then the answer to the question "have you been set any targets for the season?" would be no

in all cases i'm sure Worthy was aware of when the board were not happy with results/league placings without them having to come out and state that in the media
