Funny thing about Loot was...

...the company I was with at the time were founded by former founders of Loot. In the mid-90s they said internet would be the way to go for classifieds. The rest of the management team disagreed. So, these two said FU and started their own company building classifieds web applications. Took them almost 10 years but finally they were called in to replace this crap their geek had built with sticky tape. It took him 7 years to complete (actually had never really completed it) on a reported salary of six figures (GBP) per year. We replaced it with better performance and functionality in 15 days.

He got fired two months later.
