Look at Test averages.

They've consistent gone up. You may say it's because the batsmen are better conditioned etc but the same applies to bowlers.

The high percentage of Test match draws in the 80s was due to covered pitches, the adjustment in the laws on the ball and tactics based upon the previous conditions. The conditions were still batsment friendly.

In my view, you need a fair contest between bat and ball. You're not getting it to my mind. Everything is, on average, in favour of the bat.
