Really ? Personally I think they underperformed in the group stages, then lived up to expectation and the only surprise was that they beat Brazil, but that was as much down to the Brazilians being awful (have you seen the stills of Roberto Carlos taking a rest during Henry's goal when he should have been marking him ?).
