It all comes down

to the fact that almost anything counts as a foul these days - if we treat the slightest brush as a foul it makes the line between diving and a foul almost non existent - it's Jim's point basically - if it doesn't actually affect you physically (so you need to fling yourself to the ground to "prove" the foul) then why penalise? It's a dive.
