You could not be any more wrong.
The League position is not one stat.
Is ALL THE FUCKING STATS combined.
The larger the sample, the more relevant it is.
Looking at the table and including GF/GA pretty much tells you 95% of what is wrong or right with a club...
People get hung up in minutia stats when the big picture is right there.
Most people who use stats don't understand what is critical and what is not.
Thats a proven fact.
If they did they would be able to print money.
The likes of Brentford, Brighton and Muff have done well.
And its not because of stats like xG which everyone knows about.
Every club has those stats, most don't understand them or what is important.
Most gamblers have access to all the stats...... most gamblers lose.
Show me how xG is useful compared to other stats.
You also keep totally ignoring the subjective nature of xG.
This isnt corners won or conceded, the number is based on opinion and possibly viewing angle.
If you are a true stats nerd then that should make you scream.
The scientific method screams for repeatability.
