In which a small number of people with complete knowledge are pitted against a larger number with incomplete knowledge, is to try to pit the traitors against each other.
Soooo, there's a real benefit in the faithfuls lying about who has been mooting names.
The faithfuls will all inevitably blindly stab each other in the back.
Finding ways of introducing doubt into traitors minds about whether they're being plotted against by fellow traitors is a way to level the playing field.
If the traitors stick together they'll win unless they make an error.
