It is a referral to those who believe that Smith was a bigger problem than he actually was.

Being dour & straight-talking is no reason not to give a manager a chance. Especially after the demise of a manager who - despite his florid press-conferences & poetic utterings - had given us two such f**king miserable PL seasons.
