Not all avoidance is legal

Which is to say, many ‘avoidance’ schemes end up being investigated and proven to be evasion.

I don’t think the likes of ISAs and allowable expenses/umbrella companies for self-employed/consultants should be seen as ‘avoidance’ as they’re simply legitimate functions of the tax system.

Should probably be 3 categories: mitigation (legal) avoidance (probably illegal) and evasion (definitely illegal)
