I'm afraid you've got that all the wrong way round
You value the company and then by reference to that value, you value the shares.
If the company is worth 1m and has 2 shares, each is worth 500k. If it issues 8 to me at £10 each, it's still worth 1m basically, as before, but the first 2 are now worth 100k each and mine are worth 800k
