Fuck depression

It’s f**king s**t. I’ve lost two jobs and a s**t load of money and friendships through depression and it’s effects.

Meds, talking therapies, exercise, yadda yadda. Some of that works, some of the time. None of it works, a lot of the time.

Only thing I know is that your ‘there is no more help for me’ isn’t true. There will be something that will help - eventually. And friends that have been through it (or are going through it! That can just sit and listen to you.

There will be lots of contributors to it - spend some time working out what might be triggering yours and what you could tweak. It might only take one thing to change that then releases the critical bit of pressure that lets cope.

Maybe it’s a job you can change, a relationship you can step back from, a financial worry you need to share with someone, a bad habit you can drop.

For me it was changing jobs but critically better sleeping habits and drinking less. Opened up on a financially situation that was crippling me, got third party help to manage that. Meds briefly at the peak of it all and when I feel it coming back. Got an actual black dog which forces you out a bit.

Not sure which of all that lot worked, and still have bad days and fears it creeps back.

Admitting you have a crippling problem is always a big step, so we’ll done. It means you’re on the right path at least (it’s an up and down path - never simple).

Also suggest not watching Norwich’s Prem games. That helps not to lower the mood further…
