overheard an interesting debate on the wireless the other day about time wasting in footy and how kids were spoon-fed that play acting and cheating by players they idolise is the acceptable norm nowadays; keeper goes up unchallenged to grab a loose ball into the box, and crumples in a heap cuddling the ball before slowly getting up and pretending to scan his 360 like a doped up sloth (yes you tim krul). Burly 6 foot 2 CD feels a slight touch from a diminutive attacking player and goes down like a sack of s**t and gives the ref that look like he pleads with the ref for more protection (yes you grant hanley).

yet we all accept this without question and the younguns watching grow up thinking this all normal, cheating is fine as everyone does it? so out of my season ticket money most of the 45% that the game is stopped goes to fund rolling about and feigning injury. nice.

there was an article in the daley nazi about it: User Posted Link the author was on the radio show and said that footy should adopt time referees like rugby who stop the clock on any injury, feigned or not.
